TRAIN OPTION:
The Expedition service is designed for the traveler’s comfort, with four passenger seats located in front of each other, so you can share your experience, and for the faithful backpack that is always with you, we offer racks placed above the seats. Also this train has panoramic windows, air conditioning and heating. During the journey, you could listen to andean music that creates a cheerful atmosphere.
Expedition service leaves from two stations: Cuzco (Poroy – Located 25mn away from Cusco) and the Sacred Valley of the Incas (Ollantaytambo – Located 2 hours away from Cusco)
The route Cuzco – Machu Picchu is a three hour journey for those who want to leave directly from Cuzco, being the only alternative in the market, and the Sacred Valley – Machu Picchu route offers multiple schedules and rate choices.

We pick you up at your hotel 4:20am, then we drive in our private van to Poroy-Cusco Train Station. (Train leave at 6:40 am).
The train ride consists of spectacular views in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, (this train has large panoramic windows), Inca farming terraces on both sides of the valley, snow capped mountains and sub-tropical jungle near the Amazon. From Ollantaytambo, the sacred Vilcanota river will be our companion until arrival at Aguas Calientes (2040mt/7907ft) well known as Machu Picchu Pueblo. Your guide will meet you at the train station and transfer you to Machu Picchu with the shuttle. Then enjoy the guided tour for 3 hours, exploring the whole Inca citadel; then you have some free time for photos and extra hikes. Then you could take the shuttle to go down to Aguas Calientes and return by Expedition train to Ollantaytambo at 4.22pm, then transfer to Cusco, arriving at your hotel around 8 pm.

Please fill in the form from our “BOOK NOW” menu on our homepage. Then make a deposit of $200 per person which you can do via PayPal to samtravelperu@gmail.com. Pay Pal does charge a small fee of 5.5% which has to be paid by the client. This comes to a total of $211 per person including PayPal fees. As soon as we receive both we will book your Machu Picchu entrance tickets + train tickets and email you with a confirmation and your final invoice which can be paid when you arrive in Cusco.
Unfortunately the answer is “Not”. Once the tickets have been bought the government does not allow any changes, so we can’t change any departure dates after the ticket has been bought. Tickets are also not transferable and not refundable.
*** If you cancel your Lares Trek, the deposit is not refundable at all!
It will depends on the train availability BUT the idea is to allow as much time as possible in Machu Picchu and enjoy the amazing views on the way back to Cusco from the train, we mean you will take the train at 15:37, 16:22 or 18:10h
OF COURSE! You have to bring your original passport and it is very important that it be the same passport number you sent to us to book your Lares trek 4 days. The rangers will double check at Machu Picchu entrance and Huayna Picchu Mt entrance. The train company will also check your passport before allowing you to board the train. In case you are renewing your passport, go ahead and send us your old number to secure your permit, and we can change it when you get your new passport number…if so, please send the the new passport number as son as you get it.
First I may say the wather is very unpredictable and its difficult to know BUT you will have many different varieties of weather as you pass through the numerous microclimates and will depends on the location. We highly recommend to bring your warm clothes and a good rain gear on your day back pack.

Absolutely!!! On day 1st we will pick you up from your hotel which is included in the package and on last day we will drop you at your hotel too! If you have booked your hotel in the Sacred Valley like Ollantaytambo or Urubamba, we may drop you over there too!
It is 2 hours by train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and then another 2 hours from Ollantaytambo to Cusco by bus. If you upgrade to Vistadome all the way backc to Poroy (Cusco), the train is 3 1/2 hours to Poroy, then 25 by taxi to Cusco. Usually our clients are back at the hotel by 20h, if you are planning to take the bus to Puno on the same night, that is totaly posible.
