The appeal of the SHORT INCA TRAIL TO MACHU PICCHU is the stunning combination of Inca ruins, magnificent mountains, exotic vegetation and extraordinary ecological variety. We pick you up at your hotel at 4am for the journey with our private transport to the Ollantaytambo train station, and then we take a train for the next two hours to kilometer 104 of the Cusco-Machu Picchu way, where we begin our trek and pass the first check point. Afterwards we initiate a moderate climb for the next three hours to the magnificent archaeological site of Wiñayhuana (2,650m/8747ft). Once there we may enjoy the spectacular views of the Urubamba canyon, stunning Inca sites and the connection with the traditional four day Inca Trail. After a time to enjoy this beautiful sight, we continue our hike towards the Sun Gate (2,730mts/9,007ft). When we arrive we will have the first spectacular view of Machu picchu in all its brilliance and majestic presence. Afterwards a time to enjoy the views, we walk downhill for one hour to the citadel of Machu Picchu. From there we take our bus to Aguas Calientes where we spend the night in our hotel.

After an early breakfast we leave our hotel to take the bus for the journey up to the Machu Picchu ruins. Once there we will visit one of the most important mystic centers of the world: Machu Picchu. There our guide will provide a 2.5 hour guided tour, merging us into the history around this mysterious and charming ruins. After the guided tour we’ll have plenty of time for further exploring, taking photos and the option to climb Huayna Picchu Mountain or to go up to the Sun Gate, before we head back to Aguas Calientes for lunch. In the afternoon we take the return train at 4:22pm to Ollantaytambo with a private bus connection to Cusco arriving around 8:30pm.
The Short Inca Trail to Machu Picchu DOES NOT INCLUDE the extra porter, so, you will need to carry all your thing, please try to pack as light as possible which is the key to enjoy this amazing trek. If you wish to have a porter to carry your belongings, it is $60 extra for this add on service (10 kilos or 22 lbs maxium).
